Informing, Criticising and Making Fun of the Beliefs and Practices of Mormonism

Former LDS Bishop: Earl Erskine

Ironically, he rejects one form of delusion only to embrace another.

“Our enemies have never done anything that has injured this work of God, and they never will. I look around, I read, I reflect, and I ask the question, Where are the men of influence, of power and prestige, who have worked against the Latter-day Saints? Where is the reputation, for honor and courage, of the governors of Missouri and Illinois, the judges, and all others who have come here to Utah on special missions against the Latter-day Saints? Where are there people to do them honor? They can not be found. . . . Where are the men who have assailed this work? Where is their influence? They have faded away like dew before the sun. We need have no fears, we Latter-day Saints. God will continue to sustain this work; He will sustain the right. If we are loyal, if we are true, if we are worthy of this Gospel, of which God has given us a testimony, there is no danger that the world can ever injure us. We can never be injured . . . by any mortals, except ourselves.”

There are good answers to all of Erskines doubts .. why doesn´t he find out and come back to the true church??? Why doesn´t he look for the answers that are to be found in many places like Fair.lds and Lehis library or jeff Lindsay lds???? This is not honesty…

The “Bishop” Earl should read the following books:

Who Wrote the New Testament? The Making of the Christian Myth — by Burton L. Mack

Honest to Jesus — Robert W/ Funk

101 Myths of the Bible How Ancient Scribes Invented Biblical History — Gary Greenberg

The Christian Tradition A History of the Development of Doctrine Book 1 The Emergence of the Catholic Tradition (100-600) — Jaroslav Pelikan

The Origin of Satan: How Christians Demonized Jews, Pagans, and Heretics — Elaine Pagels

I asked him to read the above and subject his new-found version of “Christianity” to the same scrutiny as he claims to have done vis-a-vis The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but he refused. He isn’t looking for “truth,” but has merely left one sect of Christianity for another — he appears unable to distinguish thinking from doubting. And exhibits that bumptious security that springs from dogma rather than from faith.

“Bishop” needs to be quit being used with his name. I know people who have not been Bishops in the LDS church that know more than Mr. Erskine does. Having been a Bishop does not mean special knowledge.
Mr. Erskine does not present anything new, just the same, old regurgitated rhetoric.
